Offset points

Hi everyone, working on some large topo projects in suburbia and finding out an issue I would like to see perhaps addressed. I find I use offset points quite a bit. For example, ties to large coniferous trees work best for me as an offset. I get little to no resolution under those things. So I will go into the offset screen and find I have to put in the P1 point every time. It remembers the last one used which may have been several shots ago. It would be nice if it would use the last point number stored, or have an option to do that. Not a large deal, but it would be nice!

Also, I am finding that about 1pm my time (Pacific), the solutions just go to crap. I mean like 6 total satellites available, so getting a solution takes forever. It's so bad that I just give up and do something else. Is this common in other places? I don't recall ever having this issue before.

Six total satellites? Something is wrong. You might check on mission planning to see what you should be getting.

Can you explain your offset request? When you survey in P1, then those coordinates remain until you change them to something else. If you long press P1 you can enter the name of a point that already exists. A quick tap on P1 takes you to the survey action screen to create a new anchor point.

I have had the same issues several times this summer (western Virginia). It is happening generally in mountains and canopy. Mission planning confirmed that the issue was rational. Looking for the new birds! It's hot in the afternoon - good time to go to a bar!

Sorry for the delayed response, I got busy again!

Shawn, yes, what you are describing is what I do now. I hold down the P1 point and type in the point I want to do the offsets from. I was wishing that it would automatically use my last directly tied point. Being lazy I guess...

And my satellites are better now, so all is good.
