Pairing the T2 and UHF Radio

Gentlemen,

I am having a connection problem. The issue is connecting the LS and T2. I have tried clearing NVRAM, sending the setup to the base and rover through the Base/Rover setup page, force updating all the software, restarting etc. Nothing is working. I can connect via bluetooth but the UHF radio will not connect.

Shawn and I successfully unpaired and then paired the radio and T2 in the past. So I attempted this process and am hung up at the pairing stage (I have ordered a USB cable however; it hasn't arrived). I need to be able to pair via Bluetooth (as we did previously).

Can anyone provide direction on pairing via Bluetooth or any other method that doesn't require a USB cable?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If your radio and T2 are still paired then you can un-pair them via Bluetooth from the LS. If the Bluetooth connection between your radio and T2 for some reason then the only way to repair them is via cable.

Hi Matthew,

Do you mean it will work as long as I don't break the bluetooth link when unpairing? Shawn talked me through the process a while back, I don't recall all the details ... I know I didn't have the cable.

What if I am on the testing branch?

Yes that is the way it should work. You can tell if the T2 is still paired with the radio by just turning the T2 on and then turning your radio without turning your LS on. If your Bluetooth light comes on when you turn your radio on then your Bluetooth link between your T2 and your radio is still enact and ok.

Well, this is interesting.

I unpaired the T2 and LS when in the field. Could not get the system to pair in the field or office. The LS is off, the T2 is on and the radio is on. The BT LED on the T2 is solid and radio is apparently sending corrections (1 Hz). 1 Watt UHF radio. Power light slow blink (green), The BT (blue) and TX (green) are alternating at about 1 Hz.

Thoughts on resolving this matter?

When I attempt to connect the LS to and T2 the BT connection works however; I get a message the the external UHF is not paired.

I can connect to the T2 via JMT. The T2 is logging corrections at 1 Hz. The connection source is "unknown"

I am not sure I understand what happened. Did you go into uhf config. and hit unpair?

When you have your radio and T2 on by themselves is the Bluetooth light on your T2 red or blue? If it is red then the Bluetooth connection has been severed.

If you connect to your T2 with your LS then go to uhf config there should be an option to pair your radio. If you hit it, it will have a pop up with an option of usb or bluetooth. Pick Bluetooth.

Yes I did impair in UHF config.

When the LS is off and the radio and T2 are on, the BT LED on the T2 is solid blue.

The radio TX light and BT light are alternating st about 1 Hz. JMT indicates the T2 is logging from an unknown connection.

When I connect to the T2 via LS's BT I select UHF config box and I get a message

"External radio is not paired with the GNSS receiver". I select ok. Presented with dialing box asking me to choose channel for pairing. I can choose BT, USB and cancel. I am waiting for delivery of the USB cable - so can't use that. If I choose BT I see a blank list of BT devices. The system appears to scan but finds nothing.

LS off
T2, HPT401BT on
When condition above is true, the blue LED on the T2 is illuminated and solid blue.

I'm thinking restore factory settings on the LS will solve the problem. Can anyone confirm?

OK, I don't want to bother anyone on the weekend. If one of you guys are available please reply. Otherwise I know you all work hard and can deal with this on Monday...

Anyone a available to chat this morning?

I wiped the LS over the weekend thinking that would solve the problem. Again, no connection.

Gentlemen,

I''m about an hour from the Javad site in San Jose. I ran over yesterday, picked up the USB cable for the radio, connected it to the LS and it was paired in under 2 mins.

Problem resolved, thank you!
