You'll find sometimes OPUS is down, even DPOS AUSPOS and other's. I've grown to dislike OPUS as it's too damn picky with submitted data or nearby CORS data is unavailable. Plus OPUS uses only GPS. I also think NGS needs to lighten up on their strict requirements (4 hours) on the GPS Benchmarks campaign. Using multi-constellations receivers and adding to OPUS would shorten occupation times.

Using Justin, I have the freedom to PP to the surrounding passive stations in our area if needed. I also can use all the GNSS constellations in Justin. For the price, you won't find anything out there to compare Justin with. I enjoy using the software, I think others would too if they'd just try it.

TBC and others aren't the know-all in PP. Justin beats them all, including OPUS in my opinion. Justin should be a standard toolbox for every Javad user.

On a more serous side - when (time of occupation) do you hit the point of diminishing returns?

NGS recommends 5-hour sessions on 3 different days, with an 3-hour (or more) time-of-day offset between sessions, for primary control.

Another NGS investigation produced the following (the poor resolution is the way I found it):

Jim's chart is correct. Seems like at 12 hours there is a point of diminishing returns.

I've always noticed a significant improvement in repeatability at about 5 hours. Much less than 5 hours and I see some variation day to day.

I appreciate OPUS, but I have found it is not the gold standard that I once believed it was.

I agree in general, but note that OPUS *is* a gold standard of sorts when dealing with federal agencies. For example, FEMA will accept an OPUS solution for establishing datum on an Elevation Certificate.
Jim,
Slightly different thread. When you use OPUS for an Elevation Certificate; what do you write as the answer to Question C2. (Benchmark Utilized:___)?
