Point Codes

I'm trying to transfer my point codes from Trimble to J-Field in the LS. I can export the codes in a number of formats, but I don't know what J-Field is looking for. My tries have resulted in the message "the file contains no data" or something like that. How do I configure the .csv file so that J-Field will accept it?

The first line needs to be a header line that defines the fields you are importing. An example:

That seemed to work. The trick is to have the semicolons in there I guess, and to have the right header names (which don't coincide with the names in the code manager).

Possible header fields that you may wish to use include the following:

Name;Description;Category;AttrName1;AttrValue1;AttrName2;AttrValue2;AttrName3;AttrValue3...

Matt, is there a way to include commonly used attribute values in this text file format?

For example if I have a fence code with one of the attributes as type, I want to have chain link, woven wire, barbed wire, high tensile, etc already in there when I import the text file into JField.

Thanks,

There is only the ability to import one default value for each field from a text file. If you are looking for a faster method to enter codes and attributes, a USB keyboard can be plugged into the LS.

what is the text file's header fields format we should have if we would like to import CODES SHAPETAGS AND SYMBOLS on the "manage codes & Shape Tags" feature on the Thriumph-LS?

You need to have the fields used in the file separated with a semicolon like in the example I posted.
