Point name is already exist

If I enter an existing point name, J-Field tells me "Point name is already exist". I'm glad it doesn't automatically overwrite an exising point, but it makes me guess again (and again and again) what the next available point number is.

It would be helpful if J-Field would give me the option of overwriting the existing point or creating a new point, then suggest the next available point number after the number I entered.

I second the motion! When setting up the data collection specifics in the first collect screen, would it be possible to have J-Field automatically que up the next available point number/name from the last point number used to store the last point?

This is one thing we already have on the to do list.

I'm not sure we want to have an option to overwrite a point, this can be dangerous as someone may accidentally choose overwrite. I do think the point name should automatically increment to display the next available point name after the "Point name is already exist" message is displayed.

I'd like to make clear that my little joke about the syntax of some of the UI elements wasn't meant to disparage the work of the coders who build the application. On the contrary, I greatly admire those who are able to communicate effectively in a business environment using a non-native language. I only wish I had similar skills!
