Points misbehaving

I shot several points in an existing project where everything had been working fine up until this Dec. 7. The first point I shot in the morning turned out ok, but every other point shot that day isn't recognized by the software. They appear in the list but the blue box to the right where the N/E usually displays shows "Cannot read database object". As a result, I can't stake to these points, average their clusters, etc. However, If I export all project points, they still have a northing/easting associated with them. I was using the MNCORS RTN at the time. How can there be coordinates upon export but no GPS data?

This happens when GenMapsData.db3 become corrupt. To fix it you can do the following:
  1. Exist to the Windows desktop by pressing On/Off and choose Exit J-Field
  2. Open My Device. You may want to connect an external USB mouse to make it easier to navigate through the small icons and options. The hardware arrow buttons are also useful.
  3. Browse to Mounted Volume\VS Data\Maps
  4. Delete GenMapsData.db3
  5. Reboot
Note that this will cause all your DPOS sessions to be lost in all projects but they can be recreated.

You can also just connect straight to desktop with usb to macro cord if you have one....then just browse in windows explorer
