I have my base set up behind the office and was going to check it before I head down the road to do a job. I had a visitor. I sat and watched him for about 5 minutes before he headed off. He also left his signature on my base. That will get you wondering won't it!
I wrap a rubber snake around the top of my base tripod. Seems to work really well warding of the birds.

These pics still don't do it justice. In a very low flood plain all day long with a huge hill side to my south and it pulled through with excellent confidence. We had worked on an adjoining parcel previously so I had computed all the property corners to stake to. I was blown away by the consistency. I had RTK, RTPK, Variety, and computed points to check myself with. Never before have I walked out of the woods like these with such confidence in my solutions. Thanks Team JAVAD! :)

Doug Carter made the long trek to the UP from Tower, MN to help us with this one and a couple others. It was a tough week. LS and T3 had its work cut out, as did Doug and the rest of the crew. (Notice the poison ivy) Thanks Doug for helping me figure out this incredibly complex but amazing machine. All we need now is a radio that will go three miles.

Excuse my ignorance but what is the UP?

Upper Peninsula is correct. On the shores of the great refrigerator known as Lake Superior. (Except last week when it was 90 degrees) Doug has been helping me try to sort out my radio woes. Maybe it's all the minerals in the area. (Copper and Iron) or maybe there are just too many trees. We have to fight to get 3000 feet with the 35 watt radio.

It's crazy how common those types of shots have become, Matt.
You sure got that right…..just right up against a plain ole big pine tree…..walk in the park for an LS+ and T3 combo with rtpk for sure. What’s funny now is, I find myself “griping at it” if it’s IN a horrible spot for more than 10 or 15 minutes. By that time 95% of even really rough stuff has rtpk (X2 or more) - maybe on top of the lead rtk epoch - or on top of a “dot” of another rtk group - or hitting a design point in stake mode on a tight survey I’ve already adjusted to - or……there’s just SO many ways to prove it and prove it again….

I have been doing some testing at the office today while getting some drawing done. I was mainly using the time to test very long RTPK sessions. I found the worst place I could on the property and put it on RAMS. I must say I am again truly amazed. This is about as bad as it gets. The unit was about 20' away from a metal building. It was able to produce 3 shots within 0.10' in about 30 min. I even got a variety of 1.7 on one of them. This was truly an awful shot. Thought you guys may enjoy.
