Problem with profile and my solution.

I always start my jobs off with uhf. I then place a mifi device near the base to switch to cell if needed. I have found that if I do not switch back to the uhf profile before I reconnect via bluetooth to the base. I will not be able to download the base and it being aligned with all my previous rover points. If for some reason I forget and connect to base via bluetooth while under the cell profile. It will not let me download the base file. Even if I back out and switch to uhf and reconnect while under uhf. It will also turn off my 8010 port the next day I start my job every single time. If I forget under wrong profile. I can stop the base (no download option). Start the base again with new base point and then do the stop and download the big base file for previous points but they are not associated with previous rover points. I have trained myself to slow down and switch to uhf even though most of my day is collected under cell. I don't know if this will be a problem with Linux and I could care less for a fix for windows at this point but wanted to point it out for future Linux fix. If there even is a problem.

Hi Phillip,

I believe you have discussed this previously. What is the primary reason for collecting over cellular rather than UHF?

I added the cellular option quite a while back and it's much more reliable than using a mobile phone or hotspot. It also allows me to connect directly to the CA real-time network. With upsampling selected I obtain beastmode speed but have access to only the GPS constellation. Normally this is not an issue.

DPOS sessions can be recovered using the "Attach GNSS file" and "Recover DPOS session" options found in the Point's screen menu. Have you tried this?

My opinion is. I think cellular has a better stream than UHF. It is easier to achieve a longer baseline. I have to use a verizon mifi because that is just the way it is with our cell network in Arkansas. I had previously used the cell modem inside my T1 via ATT on their 2G network. Now that service has been mothballed and ATT no longer offers "modem to modem" or "phone to phone" communication. I don't remember the exact wording. Modem in the T1 is ATT only. So Verizon mifi is the only option for phone to phone. I have to have a Verizon at the base but could have ATT or Verizon at the rover. Even though I hate the detached modem I do like being able to switch from cell to uhf. Some areas of the job may not have cell coverage and that little 1 watt may save the day.

I have and it was a nightmare. Never worked. I had Evers take a look. It just never worked. Luckly it has only happened a few times. I remember now every time I get ready to download. It's without a doubt easier to just switch back to whatever profile I have started the base with and use that when I download.
