Quick Shot Action Profile suggestions

I would appreciate some suggestions for the creation of a Quick Shot Action Profile to be used for the fast collection of points where a high degree of precision is not really necessary. Location of points such as C/L gravel drives, fencelines, pavement edges, creeks, treelines & etc.

I want to take advantage of the Phase 1 confidence that a good fix has been obtained. And also take advantage of the Validate phase to establish that nothing bad happened while the point is being collected. I guess I need to determine the proper number of epochs & seconds which will allow for a reasonably valid collection.

Would it be too dangerous to reduce the confidence/consistency numbers to shorten the collection?

Here is what I am thinking:

Start Button:
Stop after: ( 30 ) epochs [10-100]
Minimum duration: ( 30 ) seconds [10-120-180]
Verify with V6 reset
Confidence Level: ( 10 ) [5-10]
Consistency Counter: ( 10 ) 10
Minimum RTK Engines: ( 2 )
Validate with ( 2 ) engines
Correct for tilts: ( on ) [on/off]

Use the precise topo preset profile.

Start with Start button
Verify with V6 Reset
Confidence Level 5
Consistency Level 10
Min. RTK Engines 2
Validate with at least 2 engines
Stop after 10 epochs
Min. Duration 10 Sec.

These are the default settings in precise topo profile.

Charles,

I like to verify 4, use codes (so i don't spend a lot of time typeing), and use tilt lift.

I keep the LS tilted somewhat so I dont loose lock, select my code, then lift on my point. I have it set to take 5 epochs then it auto accepts the point.

Hope this helps,

Clay

You are saying you use 4 engines to verify? Not a bad idea to feel good about the collection/occupation. I got the profile copied and have made a few changes.

Thanks for the suggestions. Working my way around the learning curve.

I like using 4. I feel better about the shot. I used to use 3. It takes a little longer sometimes, but I think it's worth it.

One of the problems is when you tilt the LS you tend to loose some engines. You could always turn tilt lift off, keep it plumb and hit the start button. I have been using it a year and still find more and more opions I didn't know was possible. Reading this forum helps a lot.
