Quick Start Guide to the TRIUMPH-LS With J-Field 2.0

Here is an issue that I am reminded of when I attempted to export this html file to my thumb drive.

It seems that html aren't associated with a program on your PC for some reason. If you double click on it Windows should ask you what program to open it with and then you would need to choose IE.

It appears that way but it is actually a corrupted/ghost file of some sort. It shows as blank but has a size and cannot be copied or revised or opened. I had similar issues with exporting html to the sd card. As I mentioned, the html files work when sent to the google drive but often have the underscore after (.html_)that has to be removed/renamed.

I still think it is a problem with your PC. Have you tried to open it on another PC? HTML exports work when I try them.

I do not know how long you have had this issue, but first thing I would look at for the PC related issues would be the last time you did a Windows update ..
I had one that removed quite a few of my file associations, and caused other problems which forced me to rollback to a version prior to the update.

If you are copying the files to the same folder every time, check to see if that folder, or its contents have been blocked/locked

The way I read it, you are having problems copying the files from the LS to the thumb drives.
Are you able to see the files and other folders on the thumb drive using the LS? Make a new directory/folder? Export other types of files without issue?
If you have a small thumb drive, I would try formatting it, then copying the desired files to it to see if the problem persists.

If/When you succeed in getting the file to the hard drive of your PC, are you able to open and view the files with a text editor like WordPad, or Notepad++?
Granted the files are not truly easy reading, but at least with those editors you may be able to find something amiss.
Then save them with another name to see if they will open with your browser

I do have the same issue when I attempt to open or edit these files on my other windows 10 computer - they get updated regularly. I have been looking at this for a while with Adam but have been using the work around of exporting to the Google Drive. When you try and export the larger files, this is a pain. The html file exports to the thumb or sd but is not usable. The only way to get this ghost file off the thumb drive is to format it, you cannot cut/copy/rename/delete or otherwise use the file. I think it's some sort of html glitch, not a fan of this format. I guess no one else has seen this issue?

HTML reports work for everyone else. Unzip the html file of javad.com that I have attached and let me know if you can open it on your pc.

This may be a real long shot, but have you used the thumb drives on both Windows 7 & Windows 10 computers lately?

I have gotten errors or warnings from several computers telling me the thumb drive needs to be formatted.
This typically happens to me when I go from Windows 7 to Windows 10 with the thumb drive, but it has been bi-directional on occasion.

I usually remove the thumb drive, and try again. This does not always solve the problem.
There have been several times that the computer will not read the data on the thumb drive without a system reboot.

Thanks guys. Sorry in and out of the field. I know the thumbs can go bad, this one is a gorilla mini and that's all I use. Adam and I saw similar problems a while back exporting to my sd card. He told me that he hasn't seen this before, that seems to happen to me a lot :)

Matt,

That html opens with IE when I download, if the attached image is what I am supposed to see(html check.png) I sent a relative accuracy and sf report from this mornings network work - to the same thumb and they worked(reports 06-12-2018.PNG). When I go back into that other rtk/ppk project, 2018-0605 B, and send two html files to the same thumb - I get two ghost files for those reports(html check2.png). You can see from the png that the two reports don't have an IE app logo. Maybe this is something the overnight J-Field crew can look at? Thanks again.

When you save something to a USB thumb drive in LS, always wait before detaching the drive. From some 15 seconds to one minute. WinCE does not have safe remove feature like desktop Windows, and apart from that, we have several USB drives here which will continue to write (and get corrupted if removed) even after safe removal from desktop Windows. This may be your case.

Thanks Matt, these gorrilas don't have LED but I may invest in those. My test with the hybrid rtk html report from the same project produced only corrupted files. After several tests on two TDs and letting it sit for quite a while before removing the TD from the LS. I wonder if this could be related to bad wifi in my office? Does an html require an ip interaction? The wifi here is shaky at best on the LS.
