Rebooting to get the shot...

My LS+ keeps having a heck of time getting a shot under moderate canopy. The old LS was faster. I can walk into the woods with a sat locked and get over to where I'm going. When I click START, I get one click and then after abusing the Engine Setup and Restart buttons, it will barely get any more clicks. I do the usual slow progression of repositioning high and low and everywhere in between along with rotating everywhere to get locked. Tried certain constellations on and off. It "sees" the sats.

It constantly loses lock and the sat count just bounces back and forth from 8 to 32 or whatever.

My buddy was working with it a couple of weeks ago and he just gave up on one shot and rebooted the LS and after it fired back up, it locked and had the shot in no time.

I wish I had videoed this, but I have done this same thing several times since he told me that. It works. I have the LS+ stationary and no clicking, but moderate sky condition. I can't get the shot and no RTPK solutions. I restart that puppy without moving anything and when I click start as soon as it lets me, I get the shot in less than a minute. It has worked every time, but one.

Why? Why can't it just do that all the time?

Another thing I notice is that my trajectories work well. It appears to stay locked and record those positions well. They even seem accurate.

What is "clogging" up my unit? I sure wish one of you near Eastern OK had time to run your unit side by side to mine in my area. Any insight would be appreciated.

Suggest a clean re install. It has to do with interrupting the LS during booting, and doing factory image.
Then, fresh update.
