RTCM3 MSM7

I noticed a post by Shawn that says MSM can't be used uhf repeater. I have lot's of question in regard to MSM short/long, 3,4,5,6,7. When will we be able to use the full message msm7, what equipment will we need, how can it be broadcast, etc.

Does the full duplex 401bt work with msm as repeater ( i recommended this for a system, but if it doesn't work msm then i need to let them know)? Will there be new and different uhf radios, or is msm7 full message only going to be available over cell/internet?

What does the extra information do for us in full message at various levels msm3,4,5,6,7?

Is there a document somewhere, or could someone write one, that would explain all this? Would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Duane

None of the radio's will work with multiconstellation as UHF to UHF repeaters currently. However, the J-Link radio's work well as a TCP to UHF repeater with multiconstellation. I would recommend the new J-Link radio's to the customer. They can use TCP to UHF with multiconstellation when they have good cell coverage at the base and at the J-Link. They can use UHF to UHF repeater with standard GPS/GLO when they have no cell coverage.

Thanks Adam. Sounds like they will just need to move the base around more often like I do. Correct me if wrong, but I don't think you can switch between msm and dqpsk when run out/edge of coverage. You would need to go back to the base to make the switch right?

It depends. If using an LS base and it has internet you could change it using rams. I do t know of any way to do it with the other bases or with the LS if no wifi or cell is available.
