Stake a Curve

How is the easiest or best way to stake a point on a curve if you know the points of the PC, PT and Radius. I have read about staking based on a Polyline, but I have not imported a DWG with polyline into the job. I can compute points along the curve, with cogo, but those are at predetermined intervals, and I need to stake a random point on a curve where the center line of a gravel road crosses the curve, which is DOT R/W.

If importing the Polyline is the only way, I can probably get it into the project, either solution is going to be a first for me either way.

Thanks
Doug

One way would be to enter your radius point as a P-Delta. Then you will always know how far away you are from your radius point and can stake any point on any radius curve that you want.

Matt mentioned the easiest way to do this for now in the post above. You can also select a point anywhere on the arc.

Tap Draw, then Tap Point

Tap from Map

Move point on arc to cursor and tap ok

Thanks for the heads up. My situation, doesn't currently have a cad file, uploaded, so the PDelta option makes the most sense, in my current situation. I will also try to import the DWG, and select it that way.

Staking a curve from a cad drawing has been fixed in the testing version.

The Pdelta solution worked. If there was one drawback, the decimal points did not show all the way out to 2 decimals. The Radius was 544.38, and the best I could do with the Pdelta white box was 544, but with a little trial and error, I was able to dial it in on the 544.38. I have since learned that the Action button could have took me to a screen that would have displayed more decimals.

The process took a little time as it was in the edge of some heavy foliage.

Lastly, Is there a way to set the Pdelta white box to show 2 decimals all the time, like the Distance to Last box does now? If so, that would definitely be on my wish list.
