Not sure about anyone else’s wild requests by contractors regarding layout but this to me would be a great white box option. I will explain...
I have a contractor that request elevations of a storm drain line where a sanitary sewer Service crosses the storm drain line. The info on the stake would go something like this. “cleanout/ SD @ 12.2’//cut 5.6’ to invert.”
What i could envision would be the ability to stake to multiple alignments Also while staking to a point. Could be similar to the PDelta function with alignments and cut/fill associated. This could also be beneficial while staking storm drain line and offsets on a curb line. You could be staking the center of box for distance and cut fill and watching curb alignment for the offset.
i know all of this can be achieved by setting the traditional point and doing some calculating, however i am trying to achieve the least amount of point staking on a job.
I would love to hear thoughts on this if anyone has similar requests.
