Today while staking a corner under full canopy, I had trouble getting and keeping a reliable fixed solution. I would obtain a fixed location briefly and then go back to float only to get another fixed location a couple of feet away and then loose that to. So my solution was to set a couple of nails in the area and locate the nails as usual, letting the LS sit on each nail until the good RTK and RPTK location could be determined. I measured between the nails to verify the inverse from the shots, then set my corner by swinging arcs from the nails. I then occupied the rod and was able to obtain good fixed RTK and RPTK shots, also at this time was able to verify the stakeout location.
