Struggling to Update LS

I have not updated the software on my LS since before January this year. When the major Galileo-Beidou update was released in January I tried to update but the update would hang and I would have to restore with a restore point. I tried to update again today and the same thing was happening, except this time my restore points are failing and will not load. I am trying to use the "factory reset" option during startup, but that seems to hang also. Are there any other options to get my receiver to boot again? Can I create a bootable usb drive and boot and update it from that?

Thanks

did you mead "Reset to Factory Image" from bootstrap menu?
Where it hangs on, what is on the screen at the moment?
Do you need any data collected with the unit?

Eugene,

I don't need the data on the unit. I backed up my projects with a usb drive before attempting this.

I am selecting "Reset to Factory Image" on this screen:
reset-1.jpg

It appears the unit then downloads the new image:
DLOAD.jpg

I sometimes get this error when it's downloading the image, but not every time, sometimes the download is successful:

I have a strong wifi signal to the LS though and have tried to do this on two different wifi networks, it did successfully complete the download on two tries but then the LS reboots and stops here:

After downloading the LS reboots itself and stops here:

Eugene,

I just noticed the recovery images and instruction that you have posted at the top of the LS forum.
Should I follow the instruction to download, unzip and install using the SD card?.

I downloaded the Factory Image 2.1 (January 29, 2020) and followed the instructions to make the bootable SD card. I powered on the LS with the SD card and it appears to install the files. The LS then says "remove SD card" after removal it tries to boot, but hangs at the Javad logo screen with yocto project down in the corner as shown above.
Basically the same results I had when I tried to update the receiver originally back in January.

Ok, I created the LiveSD card with the link above and booted from the SD card. The boot hangs much like described above. The only difference is with the LiveSD image, the LS did not ask to remove SD card during boot.
It is hanging at the Javad logo screen as shown above.

Progress! It booted fully with that image.
It is repeatedly giving me the message "No Authorized Options! Please check options in "Support" screen."
Also, it cannot seem to detect a wifi network.

Thanks for your help.

Shawn,
I was able to get it connected to the internet with a Lan cable, and update the options. It still doesnt see wifi, but its connected to RAMS now if you or Eugene want to take a look. Serial 00540

HI All, I am in a similar situation to Ryan with my LS (728). I had to do a restore after I updated yesterday, and now the LS will not boot. I have talked to both John Evers and Duane Frymyer, and they think I need to do a factory reset. Although I have all of the coordinate data off my LS, I do not have a full backup of the projects. If I create a LiveSD and boot from it, will my projects to be available to backoff?

Jim,

What ended up being the issue with mine is water damage to the camera, oddly enough. Are there any issues with your camera?
