Surveying Cross Sections

I had some Cross Sections to get on a river.
I got a Canoe. And a rope, and an heavy chunk of iron for an anchor. Then, a 100' fiberglass tape, with RR spike.
We picked our line, for our cross section, and slowly paddled across, throwing the RR spike ahead, to memorize the shape of the bottom. Then, we went back, and paddled to the change points, threw out the anchor, and then the RR spike. We had the Mono-Pod, with the tip removed. The monopod was at 3.2', and the canoe was about 0.2' deep in the water. We then threw out the RR spike, to read the surface of the water. We set the LS to allow 3.35' horizontal change, in RTK. Vertical was at 0.35. We took our readings, as the wind blew us around. Wind direction was upstream, to the flow of current. We got our cross sections done. Here is a pic:

It was a fun day. The PPK data was funny. It seems it don't like the LS moving around that much!
Thanks for listening. These are really rewarding jobs.

Never got pic of rig. But, I'd throw out the anchor, pull it pretty tight, and put my foot on top the rope, to hold us still, (as still as can be done). I have the rig here. It's all a cobbled together thing.
