SV Box Flip-Flop

What would cause the behavior shown in this video? The unit worked normally a few minutes before this was taken, and after a few more minutes it returned to normal behavior. Just curious.

Are you referring to the 16+0 switching to the 10+7 and back again? If so it's probably the decoding of the Glonass message. Was this by UHF or TCP? The GPS correction is in one sentence and the Glonass is in another. If one of the sentences doesn't make it through then one constellation will be used and the other not.

Are you intentionally not using Data Upsampling. If you go to the Advanced Settings (gear button on left side of action screen) you can go into RTK/DGPS and check Upsampling on and set RTK rate to 0.2 (i.e. 5 Hz).

This was TCP, and I have do upsampling checked. That's what initially drew my attention to it -- I wasn't getting the rapid clicks I'm used to hearing.

It's already set to 0.2 seconds. That's why this seemed so strange, the observation started out normally -- 5hz clicks -- then changed to approximately 1Hz, which is when I noticed the SV box flip-flopping. Shortly after I took the video (i.e. elapsed time of maybe 4 or 5 minutes), the SV box settled down and the 5Hz clicks resumed. It hasn't happened since. I'm just wondering what might have caused it.

Jim, I did not see anything unusual in video. Please explain what happened.

The unusual behavior manifested in 2 ways:

1. The session began with the LS indicating 5Hz sampling (rapid clicks). At some point it dropped to approximately 1 Hz clicks. The site was wide open and about 8 km from the base.

2. During the 1 Hz period the SV box rapidly switched back and forth between 16+0 SVs and 10+7 SVs. This is what's shown in the video.

Thanks!

You said that you did check "upsampling" box in setup and you were getting 5 Hz for some time and then this situation happened:
If for any reason, like bad connection to base, base data is not ready for some moments, or RTK cannot resolve fast, the RTK Hz drops. during that period the number of satellites that are tracked in Rover is shown in the screen, rather than showing the number of satellites used in RTK. All normal.

Maybe my cell service went wonky for a few minutes, producing the results you describe.

Thanks for the explanation!
