T1M+ and JMT/Alt Data Collection Software/Data Collector

I am looking for some feedback on the most inexpensive android tablet that I can use with the 1M+ on JMT as a network rover.

I am unfamiliar with the Android OS other than my experience with phones when they were first released. I have been with Apple for nearly 10 years.

Does anyone have a recommendation on the model that I can use with Javad Mobile Tools and the system will be snappy. Of course I could buy a $200 unit, set it up and if it's slow to respond I will end up getting something else. Perhaps it doesn't matter and any android based unit will work equally well. Not sure...

Also I saw something unusual in the Javad training videos. Data collection software other than JField or JMT was featured by a firm in Germany, I believe. Does anyone have any thoughts on this software for use with my application.

Of course I continue to have the LS for use when network survey is not appropriate. I work in many areas where there is no cellular signal or it's weak and the constantly receive errors from the CA Real Time System that I can't connect (separate issue that I have not been able to resolve).

Thanks for any thoughts.

Ok, no reply...can anyone tell me what tablets work well with the latest version of JMT.
JAVAD has a ruggedized Victor-4 PRO 'Android' tablet available that is able to be used to install JMT v5.
In addition JAVAD can also supply a 'survey pole mounting bracket' for the Victor-4 tablet.

HI John,

What is the cost of this unit? I purchased the 1m+ not long ago and a copy of JMT was included if that makes a difference on cost?

Thank you for the reply. If cost is right I need to do this asap.

Hi Jim,
If you have already purchased JMT, then JMT v5 can be used on your Android device (as-is - but with 'registration').
For the Victor-4 Pro Android, do contact our Javad sales team . . .

Hi Jim,
The JAVAD JMT v5.x application can communicate with a JAVAD GNSS receiver using the JAVAD JPS message format.

For 3rd-party GIS data collector applications, most of them on the 'market' require a NMEA-0183 message stream to be collected by the 'application'.
The JAVAD GNSS receivers can definitely provide NMEA-0183 messages for this scenario.

Some 3rd-party 'GIS data collector' applications provide for sending a 'command sequence' to the JAVAD GNSS receiver to enable (and even configure) parameter and message settings :)
Other do not :(
HOWEVER, most 'GIS data collector' applications allow for setting of the 'pole height' for the received GNSS 'antenna position'.

For instances where 'one is using' a 'GIS data collector' application that simply reads NMEA-0183 PVT messages, via Bluetooth or serial or USB, then configure the JAVAD GNSS receiver (via NetView or GREIS command) with the following 'JAVAD command':-

%%em,,nmea/{GGA:1,VTG:1,ZDA:1,GSA:10,GSV:10,GST:10}
