The carrying strap for the LS

I found that I do not use the carry strap alot... however that by removing the carry strap, (Clips provided, allow fast removal), however, there are PARTS of the strap left on the LS, and, they clip together! One (The male side) appears to be plastic. However, the female side of the clip seems be made of a harder substance.
What is this substance?
Here is my question: Does clipping these together interfere with GNSS signal, to the top of the unit? IF I loosen them, they flop onto the BACK of the unit. Then, they are out of the Antenna action area. But, do they then interfere with radio?
The LS is a bit hard to carry, without a pole attached.... no handles, and I was using the straps clipped together to carry it. It has no carry handle.

I'm thinking to leave them flopped on the backside, so I can occasionally hook it, while working...

Where do your straps attach? My unit doesn't appear to have any way of accommodating straps. (Not that I feel a need for them, I'm just curious.)

What do your straps clip onto? I don't think my receiver has anything to which a clip would attach.

Jim, I'm sorry I was so slow to get your answer. Hopefully, this will answer your question. I'd recommend to everybody to get it with the straps included. Some 15 bucks extra, and you don't have to use them. However, there is not a real good way to GRAB the LS, without touching the screen, unless you have the strap. I have mine configured as shown in the mid pic, (The one with my hand in it). When you get the strap option, you also get an over the shoulder strap, that clips into the clips, where my finger tips are. I have not yet used this on a regular survey yet. I'm trying to get everything nailed down, so I'm not trying to figure stuff out, miles from home.
But, this is the strap option, up close.

Now it fits in the carry bag better without the shoulder strap!

Thanks for the photos Nate, it really helps!

Did you order this strap and attachments when your LS was built? How much?

IF you do not order it with the strap kit, you don't get the buttons manufactured in the sides of the LS. You can take the strap off, (leaves the buttons) or whatever you like, but those buttons, have to be made into the sides of the LS. (case has to be opened, to access the other end of those buttons, to put a nut on it) Order it with the strap kit.
