This is to use LOCALIZE, to replace a missing point. It will allow you to "Align" or Rotate, Translate, Scale all at once.

OK, we have a survey, that shows a number of courses. A particular corner is missing.
Here are the courses:
S5 (This is a DESIGN point, on an unknown system page)
N38°12'E 95.03'
S6 (This is a DESIGN point, on an unknown system page)
N52°17'W 199.95'
S7 (This is a DESIGN point, on an unknown system page)

Now, we find S5, and S7. but S6 is missing.

We field shoot on S5, it's field shot number 19 (I did not shoot it multiple time, because it is fairly clear area)
We field shot on S7, It's field shot is 17A (That's 17 Average)

Now, we go over to the Coord Sys. Button.
Hit the layers button. It looks like two planes.
Here, we associate S5 DESIGN, to Number 19, SURVEYED.
Here, we associate S7 DESIGN, to Number 17A, SURVEYED.
In essence, we have localized on these 2 points.
NOW, we get a kinda crazy scale factor, and rotation.
Now, S6 has been "Aligned" so it is the coordinate we wish to STAKE.
Now, inverse FROM S6, TO S6. This yields a ZERO distance. Now, hit "middle Point", and STORE this on the same page that the SURVEY points are. IF you accidentally get it on the wrong page, you can EDIT the points, with the little PENCIL, and put it on the SURVEY Page.
Now, when you add in other points to localize on, and point S6 Moves around, then the MIDDLE point made above will NOT move. It'll stay put.
(Fail to do this, and you will mess it up, if you add points to localize on. I recently blew this, and have 2 rebar on a survey over an hour away, that are WRONG by 0.55 feet. )
I made this coord, but found out later at home, that it was on the SAME page as the above design points, and so as I added points that I localized on, in addition to the above 2 points. This allowed them to MOVE with the design points.

So, make SURE these points made via "Middle Point" are on a page that does not shift around.

Thank you

Nate
