Triumph-2 Bluetooth

Mr. Johnson,

Can you direct me in the setup for turning the bluetooth on in my Triumph-2? I had it connected to both my Triumph-LS and my iPhone a couple of weeks ago, but after the last round of updates, I no longer see it as a parable bluetooth device from any other BT device.

I've looked in NetView but I don't see a toggle for the bluetooth.

I can be reached at (909) 419-0645

Hi Ralph,

I would suspect that your OAF for the Triumph-2 may be expired. Have you checked this in NetView? The instructions to update it are included in the document I attached.

You two should talk by phone. Matt, Ralph was able to use the LS and Triumph-2 today as base/rover, he has been having difficulty with JMT with iOS finding the Triumph-2. I don't use iOS so I thought maybe you could help.

Matt,

OK, OK. Please, give me a bit of a break. This new technology is very impressive and, as you know, there are many switches and settings that need to be attended to. I, for one, tend to forget what I did two weeks ago when I try to use a different aspect of the system than I am not totally familiar with. (not to mention the updates)

I forgot iOS app used wifi as opposed to bluetooth to connect to the Triumph-2. I was able to connect the iPhone and Triumph-2 this morning, using your instructions. I collected data, downloaded it to the iPhone and I have attempted to send it to DPOS, as I had done successfully in the past. I get a message that "the request timed out". I get the same result when sending the data to OPUS. There must be another one of those switches or settings that I have not set correctly for this to be case.

As a test a couple of weeks ago, before the APP update, I was able to get a solution from DPOS with as little as 30 seconds of observation time. Is there a minimum amount of time for a DPOS solution? I believe OPUS has a minimum of 15 minutes for Rapid Static solutions.

It appears that the unit continues to collect data even beyond the limit set for occupation time. Is that correct? What is the reason for setting an occupation time if it is not to stop data collection?

Matt, (and Shawn) thank you for your help in getting this old guy up to speed with these systems.

Hopefully we are making the software as user friendly as possible, that is the goal. There isn't a minimum occupation time for DPOS but longer occupations should yield more accurate solutions. The occupation timer isn't working correctly in the iOS app right now as you noticed. I believe they are working on fixing that bug.

Matt,

Once, again, after about a week of non-use, I can't get the T-2 to show up on the list of available wifi networks in my iPhone. I had great results with numerous sessions which I was able to send to OPUS and DPOS a few hours after collecting the data.

Today, no such luck. I checked all of the settings in NetView per the instructions in the manual and all seems to be as it was a couple of weeks age, when it connected.

I must have something set incorrectly.

Ralph Dominguez. PLS

In a different but, I suspect, a related problem, I am unable to connect to the Triumph-2 from the LS. The T-3 does not show up any longer in the window listing devices within range.

Help!

I updated the firmware in the T-2 a few minutes ago and now the only light blinking is the green power indicator. The satellite indicator was blinking all three colors for the last couple of hours. Not any more.

Matt,

I am so overwhelmed at this point. When connected to NetView is that under receiver\options? I see a bunch of 3/15/2015 dates in the right column after most of the options listed on the left.

Ok yes then you need to update the OAF in both the Triumph and LS. For the Triumph-2 you use Net View to update the OAF:

For the LS, in J-Field click Support->Options Update->Check and then Update.

Done that a couple of times to the T-2. The LS was updated this morning on the job site.

After the latest firmware update, the T-2 displays two red and two green light on solid. What does that indicate?

Hold the presses! After another update and a reboot, the T-2 is now visible to both the LS and to my iPhone.

Don't know why it took so many times, but I am up and running.

Now I can go to the job tomorrow and do what I promised to do.

Thank you, Matt, for your help.

Stay close to your phone in the morning. lol

Great, glad to hear that it is working again. I should be available tomorrow morning if you encounter anymore problems.
