Matt, I can't find that option in my list of options. This is the only mention of RTK that I find:

I see from this that I don't have RTCM3 option, so that explains part of the problem. I tried switching to CMR and RTCM2, no difference. Admittedly, my approach on this is Stab In The Dark->Nope, That Didn't Work->Repeat

If you notice, your "RTK mode" option is set to 0 so you did not purchase this option. The InCORs network is a RTK network so you would need the RTK option. You can still get DGPS corrections from SBAS satellites however.

-I will have to bring up the no-RTK issue with Mr. Glutting as I told him how I wanted to use the T2 and he priced it accordingly. It was my understanding that I would be able to use CORS with the options package I purchased.
-WPA2 is supported over a beta-release firmware update that I got from Andrew Zimin after opening a Support Question.

Many thanks to all, you've been very helpful.

Who have you talked to about this?

Matt, My local dealer in Australia - GlobalPos. They say that the JAVAD sales manager says the DGPS isn't available. They also add "The unit is physically capable of it but can't be ordered with it functional".

I would be happy to purchase the device if it could be set up and demonstrated with DGPS (sub-meter corrected by internet stream from CORS).

Apparently to do this you have to purchase the RTK option. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but what I've recently learned is that DGPS apparently means SBAS corrections only, not CORS corrections.

JVan, Yes, I saw that above. I was told the same thing by my local dealer with the GISmore so I'd expect that would be the same with the Triumph. Not really intuitive and much greater expense!

It's possible that a CORS station could broadcast DGPS corrections over the internet but I don't think that is done anywhere in the US. Some CORS stations are used to broadcast DGPS corrections over marine radiobeacon frequencies: http://www.navcen.uscg.gov/?pageName=dgpsMain I was a little confused when you said you wanted to use DGPS with CORS stations, I thought maybe you knew something that I didn't. Many states' departments of transportations use the CORS stations to broadcast RTK networks over the internet which is what InCORS is.

Hi Matt and others,
I am supporting Steve's inquiries in Australia as a representative of the dealer Globalpos. I do not know your situation in the states other than what you have indicated above. What I can say is that we have, using the government CORS networks in Australia, successfully used RTK corrections using RTCM3 and wifi or bluetooth to a pc or controller that has a "mobile" connection to the web. To use WiFi -Sometimes the PC requires a small program to make an access point available from the PC. I use connectify at the moment (-although it doesn't work on a surface pro 3 at the moment). (about$10 or something like that off the web). We do not have any free SBAS in Australia. There are commercial L band suppliers or there are CORS networks that provide DGPS specific corrections over the internet at a reduced rate from the "normal" RTK corrections (approx. two thousand dollars per annum less) Our issue is the DGPS rover option is not available to purchase on a T2. It is available to purchase on a GISMore, we are just yet to test the connection to the specific network Steve wishes to use for these DGPS mapping corrections. A T2 might just have been a nice option if it could be used due to its higher overall capability to the GISMore.

Have you talked to Michael Glutting, the Sales Director? He should be able to price and set you up with this option. I asked him to comment in here.

Thanks Matt for you attention - It has now been indicated that it is included in the base configuration - The base configuration will be modified to indicate this in the near future.

I have what is probably a dumb question.
This thread started with "....that they cannot be set up to run DGPS (RTK but not DGPS)."
To me, DGPS means Dual GPS means that you have a base at a known coordinate and a rover. You use the difference between the known coordinate and what the base reads to adjust the rover with both occurring at the same point in time. Therefore, to me, RTK is a subset of DGPS just as post-processing is. The difference being that with RTK the units radio communicate and the adjustment is done in real time and real fast (5 to 10 seconds per point versus 5 minutes or so) versus post-processing which does the adjustments after the fact by using base data close enough to the time of a rover reading to adjust the rover.
So to me "RTK but not DGPS" does make sense.
What am I missing?
