TRIUMPH LS DATA CONNECTION

The LS rejected bluetooth pairing, does not connect by wi-fi, wired ethernet or USB cable. LS did connect using Microsurvey Transfer while connected by USB cable when Microsurvey Transfer was prompted for a connection.
Is the lack of connectivity an LS configuration issue or does my unit have other problems?

I did not try a thumb drive because the Microsurvey Transfer app established a connection between the LS and the PC. I was able to copy and paste the data from the PC to the project file in the LS.
What I am trying to discover is why the LS is invisible to the PC and vice versa and why the LS would reject a pairing request from my PC as well as a request via wi-fi from a laptop.

Bluetooth file transfers are not supported and WMDC has never worked well. If you want to transfer files wirelessly you should use a cloud drive, shared network folder or RAMS.

Thumb drive is the way everybody seems to transfer data.
It provides a way to have files with us, in the field.
It's interesting. You can clear the "design" coords very quickly.
So... You could bring 2 design files with you to the field. Load, Rotate and translate one into spc, and use it in stk to tie additional pnts. Then, export those modified design pnts to thumb drive.
Then, clear those design pnts.
Then, load second design file.
And localize onto it.with another page.
And, finish your day.
The versatility is awesome.

Matt, Nate, David:
Although I have had the LS for about 3 years, I'm just now putting it to use for data collection. My primary use of it has been to acquire positions for my robot. The learning curve for me and Jfield, etc. is extremely long. Finding that the LS flat out rejected pairing by bluetooth with anything I tried. could not be seen by my network and was not recognized by the PC via USB cable makes said curve have an infinite radius.
Thanks for all the advice. I'll try again tomorrow and post the results.

Have you updated the software recently? I recall some very early versions I had trouble with wifi. Shouldn't be any trouble connecting to wifi now, don't know about Bluetooth. Radius is always infinite at the beginning of the curve, here's hoping you spiral into a constant short R section.

I've not looked through a total station, or used a robot in over 2 yrs. (never had robot)
If you did not know a foreign language, but simply took 1 week vacation to where that was the only language spoken, you'd learn pretty fast how to say many basic words.
For those of us who have used the LS exclusively, we know enough of the language, to run, but we gesculate (pantomime) for some of it!

In addition to the above problems, now the LS will not pair via bluetooth using Javad Mobile Tools or netbrowser. Also, using RAMS the LS shows as connected to Javad but never appears in the receiver list. Cannot connect to RAMS locally (PC). Seems like a configuration problem but cannot see what is not right.

The LS does not support being connected to JMT or Netbrowser and there is really no need to connect to these. J-Field should be used as the field software and it has the ability to configure the receiver.

For RAMS you can use the server: rams.javad.com:8800
The “Javad GNSS, Inc.” server is only for support.

Thank you!!! In the office, the LS connected to the Javad server and the tablet connected to the LS through the internet. Any updates for connecting to LS with an Android phone or tablet using the RAMS app?

I do the cloud drive, I use google drive.
Exactly Joe!
If you have the cloud setup on you computer to view just like C: drive. Then I cannot seem to find a more easy and quicker way to transfer files. Also is a great backup for files. I use to transfer with a usb stick until I figured out Google drive and Dropbox. Stupid simple transfer.
