Triumph static work

Anyone using the Triumph-1M for static work?

I just received my pair, and I am curious as if others are always using them for static with the UHF antenna, or some other procedure. I found that all of my rods & tribrachs have exactly the same length threaded area. When threading on the receiver to any pole I found that the threads bottom out on the UHF antenna connector inside the receiver BEFORE the bottom of the brass, being the antenna reference point comes in contact with the rod. There leaves about 1/8", 3/16" of an air gap in there, which would slightly throw off the receiver height while using a fixed height rod. What really scares me is that the UHF connector in the receiver could be damaged. This leads me think that I should never mount the receiver without the UHF antenna connected.

So are there others that came across this? What do you do?

I regularly run a set of static receivers, and was thinking that if always using the UHF antenna would be required, should I edit, or make a custom antenna profile in my post processing software, and call the bottom of the UHF antenna the ARP? That may simplify using my normal fixed height 2m poles. I have 3-4 different types of receivers at my disposal, and eliminating height busts in the networks is a big help.

Yes, we are using Triumph-1 and 1M receivers for static work. We solved this problem with a drill.

Does anyone know if this problem has been resolved for the Triumph 1M or do Triumph 1 users still have to drill a hole in the top of the threads on the rod or tribrach?

There is a collar around the antenna connector. I've not heard of this being damaged when being used without the antenna.

Most quick connect adapters I've used are hollow, allowing the connector to seat better, if desired.

Adam, to tell you the truth, I just started to always use the UHF Antenna when doing static work. I minor drill job would still work though.

When I was deciding between the T2 and T1M I came across this thread and asked Adam about it. He quickly posted and Shawn had a great solution, the quick connect adapters.

After getting the T1M and working with it I discovered just yesterday that my Seco collapsible 2meter rod has a hole in the top of the 5/8 thread. I've had this rod for probably 2 years or more and I guess I've never noticed that hole. Anyway, if someone else is wondering about this, a Seco collapsible 2 meter rod works handy too. (I have a quick disconnect now as well).
