USAF Testing GPS Scrambling

According to a thread on the RPLS website.
The Air Force started tests that can affect GPS signals in the Western United States beginning on January 26th, and will continue until February 16th.

The area affected will pretty much cover from Western Colorado to the Pacific Coast.

RTK GPS users are advised to watch their data, and check into known points frequently.

This is just a quick summary of what I read.

I have not had the chance to verify any of this.

I am not sure but I think if you experience the scrambling your LS will be a brick as would any other receiver. I don't think it would operate as normal but only screw with the coords. That would be spoofing which Javad has figured out.

I wish I was able to camp out around Nellis A.F.B. to do some testing.
It would be a good test, in field conditions, to prove the Anti-spoofing capabilities, and compare the units to other manufacturers.

I have talked to a few folks that have done work on bases. All communications can be shut down on command even robotic total station radios and handhelds. There is a city in Virginia that is interior to a base not art of the base. A fellow told me to survey there you have to get permission from the base and they will clear up the air long enough for you to do what you are doing.

I have worked on several military installations, and a few ranges.
We were told on several occasions that we had to leave by a certain time. Rumors of E.M.P. testing, but nothing confirmed.
We were also told to not kick anything sticking out of the ground.

Of course if you asked for a reason, the running joke was, "I could tell you, but I would have to kill you."
That one never gets old.

The signal blackout has been given a lot of press. Even airlines are been warned to fly the "old fashioned" way. My memory is that it's a 600 mile radius. I suspect that if you are affected, you already know it.

There will be testing at the Bangor Submarine Base as well. I am located 7.6 miles NE of the base. If Javad is interested in static observations being performed with an LS, I can do that. Don't have my T2, it's on its way HQ for crack repairs.

Log daily static file in the open, please. Good challenge for DPOS.

LS started at noon PST. Will collect until 11 p.m. and be charging 11 p.m.to 5 a.m. Do you want more data on the 3rd?

I'm located near the outer edge of the 10,000 ft ring. Would like some more data Alexey?

Thanks Adam,
I may be in the area of influence. Does anyone know what this means? Should I do, or not do, anything?

Carry on as normal but pay attention for anything weird would be my guess. Post some of your raw files here for Alexey to look at.

Can someone explain the 2nd pic to me? I assume that the rings are actually a cone of interference radiating from fort Bragg. A tornado if you will. Does this mean that in my area looking zenith that the signals are interfered with at 10000 ft but not below that? Logically I think that if the signals are interfered with up there that they will be worthless down here. Any one know what actually is done to cause the interference?
