Verizon SIM Card

Has anyone had any success using a Verizon SIM card in their T-LS?

I have been unable to get mine to work (SIM card is from my Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3) even after verifying with Matt Johnson that I was doing everything right. Last night I discovered that Verizon uses CDMA technology, not GSM, so I am guessing that is the problem. I need to talk with someone from Verizon to see if a newer SIM card would work or not. The reason I prefer Verizon is because their coverage is the best in my neck of the woods, and AT&T, which we know works in the T-LS, has zero signal in these areas. I can always use my hotspot, but a SIM card would be way better it I can get it to work.

Thanks

Joe can your phone connect to a 4G LTE network, if you so it should be a GSM SIM card according this post: http://www.tomsguide.com/forum/id-2127369/verizon-cdma-sim-card.html

Thanks for the read, Matt, that is interesting. Yes, my phone is a 4G LTE phone and right now it is connected to Verizon's 4G LTE network, so it's got me puzzled. I am going to visit a Verizon store to see if they can shed some light on this. I called their tech support last week asking if there was a pin or anything special that I need to do and they said no, not really. I will keep you guys informed about what I find out, and if anyone else can share more on this, I'd appreciate it!

For light-duty usage, connecting to my phone as a hotspot works great. Heavy usage might require an external battery, but I haven't needed to do that yet. Verizon used to impose an additional charge for enabling the hotspot, but don't anymore, at least not on the family plan I have. Since I always have my phone with me anyway, I haven't bothered with the internal SIM card since the AT&T card Michael Glutting provided ran out of data.

Here are some screen shots when I have my Verizon SIM card installed:

I haven't stopped in the chat with the Verizon folks yet.

Verizon SIM cards are not compatible with the LS SIM card slots. The LS has GSM slots while Verizon is CDMA. I'd recommend using a Hotspot device and connecting by WIFI to it from the LS.

Yep that's what I have done and will do. I guess thats one downfall of verizon...its too bad at&t doesn't have better service around here. What I might do it put a at&t sim in the LS and use my verizon hotspot when I lose coverage with the sim card.
