Weak Bluetooth

Last year I acquired a second LS+ so I can run multiple rovers with the T3 base. I discovered that the new LS has a very weak bluetooth signal. Weak, as in I have to hold it within a foot and a half in order for it to find the base when I am connecting. My other LS has quite a long range, allowing me to comfortably connect to the base from the truck fifty or a hundred feet away.

I have tried connecting an external bluetooth antenna on the LS and also new bluetooth antennas on the T3 but nothing helps. Is this a send-back-to-the-factory problem or is there some setting that can be tweaked?

I appreciate any help or advice you are willing to share.

Never had a very robust Bluetooth connection myself. At 10 feet if the truck window is up, forget about it. At 20 feet with nothing but air.... maybe. I did use the external antenna for a while, but it was just one more thing to harvest sticks and leaves. I just let them exchange niceties from 10 feet or less. Also make sure your ant is in the right port on the LS... lesson learned.

Rain slowed finally...good mosquito crop this year.

I could live with 10 feet. I still use the copy of JERCI I have on my android device with it won't connect with this LS either. So no tall rod shots with this guy. Can't even set up a tall base for those deep dark woods projects.

Dry here, but somehow the mosquitoes are powering through it.

That's what I was afraid of. I will suffer with it the way it is until I can find a window of time when I can do without it for a while.

Check the Bluetooth connection RSSI value to the device (and compare to a know good device connection ?

Okay, I found the screen. I have a RSSI value of 0.68 when the T3 is sitting right on top of the LS. At 3 feet I have 0.93.

How do the BT RSSI readings compare when using your other TLS 'rover' (the unit that does have good BT connectivity) ?
