What's the best way to get lines from Civil 3D to J-Field for staking?

I can't figure out how to get line-work to the Triumph LS-Plus. I have some record maps oriented for field search. Last time, I put points on lines in C3D and exported for searching. I really don't like to fill up a point list with search points if line-work will suffice. I'm also concerned about how to stake HV alignments for roadways, pipelines, curbs, etc.

I've tried .dxf files with Acad lines and poly lines. I can't get them to import. Would LandXML be an option? Is there another way to import that I'm missing?

Here is what I do. Example for stakeout. I view on my CAD screen what I want in the LS+. Wblock and select what I want to export. Then save as a 2013 .dwg format. This way, I will save only the storm drains as a separate dc-stormdrain.dwg (2013) and the sewer as dc-sewer.dwg (2013). Then I import on a specific page in the LS+ so I can turn off those pages (layers) when I don't need them.
