Wheatherproof LS / T2 / HPT ?

Hello dear Community,
facing a quite bad weather forecast for the next week out, I was wondering how you all deal with wet weather and your equipment?

I am running an LS on Ntrip and occasionally with a T-2 + HPT401BT radio as a base. Do you think I can let the base in pouring rain or is it better to cover it with some kind of shopping bags or plastic? How about the cable connections between radio and antenna? Until now, I trusted the IP-67 specification and the anecdotal evidence from this forum - but this was only for an occasional downpour. Now I will be possibly facing 1 week of constant rain, so I will feel more confident having some of your opinions.

Thanks a lot for your answers and please excuse my bad English...

Well, I don't know about the radio... But the T-2 can develop cracks. This is especially bad on HOT days, and then sudden downpours happen, and it suddenly cools the T2, sucking water into it. It's something wrong with the Green Plastic. I've had mine into the shop over this.
Next....
the LS seems more water proof.... BUT.. that touch screen will respond to water drops. I suggest you LEARN how to turn the screen ON and OFF, (Quick hardware button press) so that if a stray drop hits it, while walking between shots, it does not give it inadvertent instructions.
For working though, here is my answer:
These cutting boards are available here in the US for a few bucks. I don't know what might be available where you are. Should I buy you some, and send them to you?

I cover my base up with a plastic grocery bag if it's going to out in heavy rain a long time. You should be able to connect the t2 to the radio via bluetooth so you don't have to worry about cables.

Thanks for your answers, guys! Luckily my T-2 did not crack yet, but I read that was more of a problem in the past. I have the version with the re-enforced corners already.

Nate, thanks for the offer with the cutting board (!), that very nice of you. I guess I can find something similar here in Germany as well, I will def try that out. I know how to turn on / off the screen and I will keep the function in mind, if I have any problems with 'drop' clicks.

The T2/radio connects via Bluetooth, but the antenna is attached to the radio by screw (and cable). I will cover the T2 by a plastic bag then and will report back with my experiences. But from what I understood normally the LS should be fine, even when getting completely wet, right?

btw I think I gotta grow a beard as well ;)

Rain won't bother the radio cables. Just make sure they are screwed in properly. Like Nate said water on the screen causes screen taps. Use the screen lock and wipe off the screen often on the LS.
