Images and screenshots that are attached to points should be deleted in the Files > Collected With Points screen.

I'm sure I understand which images you guys are asking about. Creating a PDF report does not create any new images or screenshots.

I'm not sure that you understand correctly because that's not what Jfield tells us. Home Screen1, Points, menu item page 2, Report Screenshots, Create Screenshots, nn screenshots will be created. Report screenshots are being created.

EXPLORER-OBJECTS_20180808-07.15.20.png

In Jfield v2.x, I could delete the report screenshots created through this process because they resided in a particular folder, the exact path for which I racked my brain to locate under Jfield v3. If nothing else come from this discussion, please consider adding some additional information on this screen (EXPLORER-OBJECTS) which either a.) informs the user where exactly these screenshots are being created; i.e., the full and explicit path; or b.) providing some clear means for the deletion of the screenshots created for the report; or c.) both.

This issue arises from some inexplicable reason that Jfield was using two different ME2000 zones after I had 1.) created a new project in ME2k Central; 2.) manually entered the OPUS geo coordinates for the base station using dd mm ss.sssss on layer CONTROL; and 3.) then switched back to ME2k Central. I then checked to make sure that the state plane values were in precise agreement with my source data. And for anybody curious, the reason for this all stems from NGS's steadfast refusal to acknowledge the Maine 2000 coordinate system that's been in the law books since January 2000.

For whatever reason, this seemed to be a little glitchy for Jfield, because it kept trying to use ME2k East and I had to deliberately go and check each page (layer) to make sure they were all correctly set to the correct ME2k Central zone. One possibly relevant factor, though I doubt it's actually at play, while my project is technically in ME2k Central, it's quite close to ME2k East. Also possibly relevant, I do most of my work in ME2k East and my last project (using Jfield v2.1.0.55 on 20180724) was also in ME2k East.

After creating the screenshots for the report and then the PDF report itself I noticed all of the points in my test yesterday were in ME2k East! I know for certain that I had the project defined in ME2k Central because I had such a time arguing with Jfield to begin with and in making sure the correct coordinates were being displayed for my base station. See attached first PDF report (1822Bellis-180807 14_59_59.pdf). Also, this is what prompted this thread. Being unable to delete the first batch of report screenshots that were created meant that they were wrongly included in the second report PDF report after I had wrangled again with Jfield (1822Bellis-180807 15_23_11.pdf).

Yes report screenshots can be generated this way. I had thought that you were stating that screenshots were created when you exported a pdf.

Like I said before, to delete screenshots and other resources attached to points you need to go to the Files > Collected With Points screen. You can also delete resources in the Points screen. These are the only way screenshots and other files attached to points should be deleted. They have database records that will not be removed if you delete them manually with some other method.

This is where screenshots are stored though:

They are organized in folders by creation date.

Got it. Thanks, Matt.

RE: the buried lead, coordinate system switcheroo. Has anybody seen that one before?

What version of Jfield are you using? Because v3.0.0.195 doesn't allow me to access and open that folder.

And yes, I think I understand that things are being squirreled away within a database for better housekeeping/ performance. That's fine, but there is still a need for some benign spittoon where users can go and rescue/delete screenshots and not bollix up the things driving the needs for a database.

If the folder can't be expanded, it is empty. You are looking in the wrong folder. User/Screenshots would be those captured with the PrtScn button.

I still don't understand why you can't or are opposed to deleting the screenshots in this screen? You should be able to use either one of the filters (date or name) to filter the screenshots to those created with Report Screenshots and then use the delete all action.

I know the folder is empty because it can't be expanded to view files inside of it. Your screenshot from the other thread shows your user captured screenshots are stored on the internal memory.

Sorry, I'm confused, when did I say that? I see nothing wrong with deleting screen shots here. This is exactly where I was able to delete them (as you had suggested earlier) when there were found to contain the wrong MSPC zone.

Wow, that's confusing when you first say that's where the PtrScn shots got stored and now you're saying something else.

I said User/Screenshots is where user screenshots are stored. This folder exist both the on SD card and internal memory. Your settings determine which location is used.

Ahhh, that's it! Thanks for setting me straight Matt.

I didn't think that I was storing those screenshots to Internal Memory, at least back in Jfield 2, but when just checking now, it was not set to SD Card, which has been my general policy all along. The guiding logic being some insurance policy of extracting files (with tweezers) in the event of a meltdown.
