Workshop Triumph-LS Plus 2/25/2021 - Lightning Fast Verification in Canopy

I've been running tests for about a week now with the Triumph-LS Plus in canopy. We've been working to find the right blend of settings that make RTK lightning fast in canopy and today I think we've discovered the perfect Action Profile settings to deliver extremely reliable fixes in ridiculously short observation times.

The workshop will be recorded and posted in a few days.

During my testing, I also tested the Standard Triumph-LS with multi-constellation corrections and GPS + Glonass only. I'll be sharing some observations from that soon as well!

Shawn: great webinar today. I didn't think to ask how this new protocol with the LS+ would play out with point stakeout or line stakeout in heavy canopy?

Til now, when staking important points, like boundary corners, in canopy, I set two spikes within a few feet of the target corner, then get reliable shots on them and intersect the offsets with a tape to set the pin. I follow up with one or two confirmation shots on the pin itself.

Line staking is somewhat more streamlined as I try to keep two or three set stakes in view to make sure that new shots line up, so I often accept just one shot with the LS if it appears to be fixing OK.

Would there be any circumstance (other than a confirmation shot) where RTPK could apply to stakeout?

I do not seem or be able to find the same settings screens that were in the video. Are they in Pre Release?

We are using the Triumph LS with multi constellations. I believe we understand what varieties are, but can you explain them so we make sure we have a good understanding when setting it up, and more importantly can you explain the difference in the variety settings such as .75 and 1.3.

Mike, the setting of 1.3 should be used with the Plus for now. 1 for the 6 engine Multi Constellation. I would use 1.3 for the 2 engine setup but Shawn found that the 6 engine performs better with the new variety settings, so it is worth trying. A variety of 0.75 has been very reliable in my work. I use .75 now for any topo or fence shot, etc. For boundary I use the numbers that Shawn recommends. Tests are still being performed and these numbers may still change. I recommend trying it with different numbers to get a feel for what it is doing and then apply that to the type of shot and the accuracy needed.

It's in .402. Look under verify settings and boost verify speed. You will see the Analyze Signals Variety and Signals Variety Threshold. The ability to stop based on variety isn't available yet.

How does the variety counter work? What is being counted? When will Javad provide an explanation of this feature with an update to the instruction manual? Or a new feature product info sheet?

It is calculating the symmetric difference between signals contributing to a common fix. This feature is still being improved and will probably be a little different in a week or month than it is now. Documentation for the LS is currently being updated.

I suspected it was comparing the similarities between engines looking for a backup or proof of the fix solutions in real-time.

This is very interesting and a great reason to upgrade to the LS+.

With this weather, I feel the leaves coming out rapidly. It won't be long now. I plan on timing my upgrade with the increase in leaf canopy.
