I survey in State Plane Grid Coordinates, but sometimes I want to know the Lat & Long on some of the points. My old GPS system was Allen Osborne and I could press a sequence of 3 buttons that would show all the points in Lat & Long. What sequence of buttons do I have to push to get my LS to do that or where can I read about it?

I do not do much construction surveying, but if the LS could ever survey with Total Station accuracy with regard to x, y and z, then a surveyor might not need a robotic total station, which would save quite a bit of money and make the LS even more valuable to a surveyor than it already is. It may not be possible to achieve that accuracy with a gps survey system.

Don't use wgs. Use NAD83. Create a coordinate system with NAD83 and ortho metric heights, navd88, with geoid 12b. Set transformation to HTDP and use epoch 2010. Then you can change coordinate system from state plane to your NAD83. Also you should generally have your state plane system using navd88, geoid 12b, HTDP, epoch 2010.

Shawn.....My epoch on a Nebraska State Plane coordinate system shows 2016.1964. My epoch on a NAD83(2011) coordinate system shows 2010.0000......Page 228 of older manual shows EDIT ADD DELETE buttons, but layout must have changed since then, on the LS screen.....where is the edit button to view/adjust the things for each individual coordinate system, the things as you listed above in your response....Phil

I don't believe coordinate systems can be edited. You'll need create a new state plane system and delete the old.

Shawn....I got my state plane now in 12b instead of 12a and epoch at 2010...produces slight change in coordinates of 0-0.05' for x,y,z of previous State Plane Projects. I set up a another NAD83/navd88 coordinate system for LatLong conversions from State Plane.....I did notice the elevation is 2.7 feet different toggling from State Plane System to LatLong System....just curious, why would that be.....both coordinate systems set in navd88....could not choose ellip or msl for either coordinate system...just had to accept navd88....Phil

It shows...g2012bu_north.bin on the display screen for both coordinate systems. When setting up both of the coordinate systems I chose GEOID12B CONUS NORTH 40N.
