Stating the obvious but when converting N/E coordinates from OPUS meters to US feet be sure to multiply out to at least 10 decimal...

What John Rosco above says is SPOT ON. IF your buddy with the 5 watt radio is doing better than you..... Digital radios are more picky...

In JFIELD, when you setup the 'Remote Base', do make sure the 'Antenna Type' and also 'offset' are specified and applied to 'the base'.

When using UHF radio, do check that the channel in use is not already being used or is 'noisy'... Run 'a scan' and select a channel that...
