Verizon can only provide me with a static IPV6 address, which has 6 parts. The LS seems to only allow me to enter a 4 part number. Is there a way on the LS to enter the 6 part IP address?Yes. Set the LS up in the general group to recieve TCP corrections. Enter the static IP and port being used with the base.
Thanks. Are they current models? I'm wondering if this IPV6 issue is resolved.I use 4 of them everyday, without issue. Just do not let the one at the base, get too hot, or it will cut off.
Mr. White, where did you end up on your Verizon static IP? I saw your write up on avoiding them. Do you have one for the base and the rover? What range do you feel safe working in?I told Verizon I needed IPV4, and thats what they assigned me. They are Mifi 8800L and they are Grey. I do have one that is Black.
I did not. I ended up using a UDP bridge. Verizon was not willing to give me a IPV4 at the time.Mr. White, where did you end up on your Verizon static IP? I saw your write up on avoiding them. Did the IPV6 issue get resolved?
Thanks. I'm working on a large Forestry job in SE Oklahoma and have cell coverage just about everywhere I have been so far, but it's a nightmare for my 35w radio.Yes all MIFI's have static ip addresses. Naturally try to stay as close as possible, but have gotten great results up to 5 miles, have done as much as 10 miles before. The 10 miles points were all wide open, not sure what canopy would be at that distance.
You might try again cause I just verified mine with them is the classic xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx IPV4...I did not. I ended up using a UDP bridge. Verizon was not willing to give me a IPV4 at the time.
My jetpack does not have a static address, so I could not connect to by TCP. It did allow me to forward the port, but the Verizon network did not allow an outside connection. I read it was something to do witha "NAT" firewall.Yes all MIFI's have static ip addresses.
