Bootup time has improved significantly with Linux too. From pressing the On button to time the Home screen appears in Linux is 44 seconds, in Windows it is about 98 seconds.

That, I hope, will remain faster once Linux is implemented. For some reason the startup time has been one of the few things I've muttered to myself about.

I'm thinking that with Javad LS 3, we will wear a headset, interface to it through a cell phone app, and give it voice commands, JUST LIKE if we had a 100% obedient, and tireless party chief with us.
Like:
(I'd name mine speedy)
"Speedy"
"Yes"
Start (noise says it started, clicking)
Me "Description"
Speedy "ready"
Me "Found 1/2" rebar, pls 1254 opc 12.5' n to fence"
Me "speedy"
Ls "yes"
"Use collect profile 14"
Ls "profile 14 being used"
And so forth....

Voice control is a real possibility, and given the rapid advancements in AI, such a tool in GNSS collection could be huge.

But I'll take mission planning while we wait for Javad to unexpectedly release voice control in a sudden software update. ;)
