Can't Create File on SD Card and Memory Notices

This issue has been around for a while and isn't necessarily exclusively related to JField 2. The issue has been routinely seen multiple times during a given project which is utilizing Background Maps... or at least, it has been observed in in those instances wherein Background Maps have been used. Turning off Background maps appears to mitigate the issue as it hasn't been repeated with Background Maps set at None.

I really like to use background maps on every project. I always try to keep their sizes down to a minimum area covering just what we're surveying and only slightly beyond the subject property. Lately, I've stopped using them just to avoid the disruption caused by the message.

And yes, there's tons of space on the SD card:

Are there any other users that routinely include Background Maps with for their projects seeing similar problems?

We didn't encounter problems with default background maps. Kelly, if you continue to encounter problems with custom background maps in 2.x release, could you please upload the map you have problems with. They should be usable, if not - this is a bug that must be fixed.
