Decimal point in point numbers ...

Can anyone explain why we occasionally have a Carlson drawing that will not accept points imported with a decimal point in the number? It works in newer but not in older drawings. We collect using GPS and use duplicate numbers for recollections separated by decimal point numbers (1001.1, 1001.2, 1001.3 ...). The import is asking us to renumber the points.

It does not happen often but we would gladly appreciate a suggestion.

Alpha Numeric has been selected. The drawings that have not worked were previously SoftDesk works. The LDD drawings seem to work OK.

You said older drawings not created by Carlson……I’m assuming you are now using Carlson survey by your post. So you are opening an older cad file created with soft desk or LDD correct? And you then have to set a crd file with that old dwg? Is the crd file older and maybe still numeric only and in need of conversion to alphanumeric? That’s the only thing I know to do. I name my points the same way and they come in ok. I have had it kick out some of my base session names such as 51023 A….but 51023A comes in just fine.
