Is anyone familiar with the service? This is unique use of the blockchain. Rather than mining coins based on raw computing power, GEOD tokens are mined by the precision/accuracy, unique location and time in use. Anyone can install a base on the roof of their home office. The mining of tokens apparently assists in covering some of the cost of of the infrastructure. Currently a token has a value of 4 cents.
The idea is to create an inexpensive, global of network of 3 constellation, sub-centimeter nodes that are used for position and as well as monitoring space weather. It will be NTRIP connection using the RTCM3.2 Standard It's looking like the service will be available in
Apparently the block chain was used to create a dense net for wireless communication in a very short time period, say a few years The same idea is proposed here. Apparently there are the manufactures that are preparing hardware for this system. Not sure if Javad is assisting. Seems like an idea would help us all. I have all sorts of problems maintaining a connection to the CORS system in CA. They also have no real incentive to grow and they certainly don't broadcast corrections for 3 constellations.
