There are a number of ways to do this. But, this is the one I use most often.
Hit the STAKE button.
Hit the button right below START. (It usually says POINTS).
Here, you are going to get a menu, with 5 option buttons at the top of the screen. These five are labeled:
Points, Lines, Alignment Points, Alignment Stake Here,
Surface, and Active DXF
There are 3 more buttons, "Create Point" "Select Point" and "Alphabetic / All".
Hit that one called "Lines".
Now, hit "Line by 2 points"
Here, you give the LS the 2 points you wish to stake.
Then, hit STAKE in the SE corner of the screen.
Now, there are settings for what you want to see on this screen. Like Station, offset, a stake out arrow, etc.
That should get you started.
