It's on RAMS now, I think (Javad server is checked, the only other choice is the red Disconnect button). I'm leaving the office shortly, but will be available by phone (530.400.2020) or email (jhframe@dcn.org) if needed.

FWIW, I looked back at a thread from 2017 when I had a similar problem, and the fix was to delete all profiles with an IP address in them and recreate them. I needed John's help to do that -- I got lost in the maze of screens -- and I expect if I have to do it again I'll need hands-on assistance this time, too. (The manual isn't of much help for this.)

Hi Jim, you had entered a user name and password for the rtn apn in the general group setup. Its not needed for TCP corrections with a T2 or T1M, it is needed for a LS TCP base though. I noticed it was the same as your jetpack name and password which is needed and entered in base rover tcp configuration. It is connected now.

Where can we get a look at the full release notes for the updates? I look on the LS, but when we get the incremental updates the release notes don't seem to change. I guess this is more a curiosity than a necessity, but would be nice to know .

Proposed this way back,

Not letting go of this it would be very useful!!!
I would like to propose a new section/window on this USERS forum where there would be DETAILED complete up-to-the minute information about any software updates/changes/known glitches for the L.S., T2, radios, manuals, new videos, etc., etc.
Could be in the form of a streaming news banner and then a click/link for more information on a topic from Javad.com.
I like many here I believe am not using a fraction the many new features and information for Javad equipment because I don't know about them.
I don't go to the Javad website as much as I should and go here much more often. Posting the info here would get it disseminated to the USERS and probably save the Mag 7 lots of time answering redundant questions.

Proposed this way back,
YES! Maybe a dynamic users manual that the users could add to and/or edit. I understand that getting the great new products to the users as soon as possible is desirable. However it is frustrating to me that all of the instructions are outdated, or scattered in a manner that makes it difficult for me to find. I am certain that the Mag-7 get tired of answering the same questions individually to each of their users.

I don't remember seeing this box before the latest release. What's it trying to tell me?

In my mind, go look it up, it is in the manual somewhere is not a sufficiently courteous answer.

The answer can be found on figure 4 (page 1) and the top of page 2 of the most recent Users guide update, might be a little more informative, and less frustrating for the user.

I didn't find the significance of the OK screen on my first read through.

I didn't take offense at Shawn's response, but I *have* been trained not to look to the manual first because it has traditionally been light on some details, chronically out of date and not well-indexed. I understand that it's difficult to produce a thorough manual in the first place, and to keep it up-to-date when the product is evolving rapidly is an especially tall order.

In the old days -- think IBM mainframes or Hewlett-Packard test instruments -- a large staff of technical writers was devoted to producing and maintaining very detailed user manuals. I don't think that happens much anymore, as competitive forces put pressure on companies to stay lean and keep innovating. The technical writing staff is always a tempting target for, if not cuts, at least "growth control."

Did we determine why we get OK sometimes and other times we get the full display of information. It works either way, just wondering why it is different sometimes.

MSM3 is the data format and DQPSK is the modulation that how the data is sent. Higher DQPSK needs wider bandwidth. So staying with MSM3 short (does not send data that is not needed) allows you to use DQPSK that does not need wider bandwidth.
And you are correct, at least we should update the "Help" screen more often so you look it up in the "Help" screen. Sorry, we will do that.

I attempted to install this update today with the LS plugged into the charger and connected to wifi. It asked if I wanted to create a restore point, I selected yes and it began to download. I checked on it about 30 minutes later and it was hung up on the Javad logo screen. The top right light is solid green and the bottom left light is flashing red, yellow, green, repeat. I left it sitting like that for another 30 minutes and nothing changed. I gave it a hard reboot and I'm back to the logo page. Any suggestions?
