radio hpt901bt

I currently use the 4 watt radio with T2 and LS. Can the LS receive spread spectrum from hpt901bt, or fh915 (or other spread spectrum radios), or does it need something else to enable that.

To work with the 901BT, the LS needs to have any of these options:

Internal Modem
The TRIUMPH-LS is equipped with a cellular modem. A UHF modem can be substituted or a second modem can be added.
LTE/3.5G/GSM (US/NA):
LTE (4G): Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 4 (AWS) (1700 / 2100 MHz), Band 17 (700 MHz)
UMTS (3.5G): Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 5 (850 MHz), Band 6 (800 MHz)
EDGE (2G): GSM 850 (850 MHz), GSM 900 (900 MHz), DCS 1800 (1800 MHz), PCS 1900 (1900 MHz)
LTE/3.5G/GSM (EU):
LTE (4G): Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 3 (1800 MHz), Band 7 (2600 MHz), Band 8 (900 MHz), Band 20 (DD800 MHz)
UMTS (3.5G): Band 1 (2100 MHz), Band 8 (900 MHz)
EDGE (2G): GSM 900 (900 MHz), DCS 1800 (1800 MHz), PCS 1900 (1900 MHz)
more
LTE/3.5G/GSM (US/NA)
LTE/3.5G/GSM (EU)
UHF 406-470 MHz
SS FH915
UHF 406-470 MHz Rx / SS FH915 Rx
UHF 406-470 MHz and LTE/3.5G/GSM (US/NA) [Add $1,000]
UHF 406-470 MHz and LTE/3.5G/GSM (EU) [Add $1,000]
SS FH915 and LTE/3.5G/GSM (US/NA) [Add $1,000]
UHF 406-470 MHz Rx / SS FH915 Rx and LTE/3.5G/GSM (US/NA) [Add $1,000]

Thanks Shawn, can you tell me what is the Rx difference? UHF 406-470 MHz Rx / SS FH915 Rx
As opposed to UHF 406-470 MHz or SS FH915
Basically, I'm trying to configure an LS where if spread spectrum is later determined to be not enough power, then a 4 watt or 35 watt radio could be purchased and used with it.

Rx is receive only. So they would not be able to use the Triumph-LS as a base without an external radio that can transmit. To my knowledge we don't support connection of an external radio with the Triumph LS so, basically, you could not use the Triumph-LS as a base (currently). For the vast majority of our users this is not an issue.

By using the dual UHF/FHSS Rx only modem, you have the option to run with a base using a Javad Spread Spectrum radio or a UHF radio.

Just a note, while UHF offers some compatibility across manufacturers, FHSS does not. Each manufacturer uses a proprietary format for working with FHSS, so you could not use a base with FHSS from another manufacturer and a Javad LS with the 915 internal modem.

Thanks Shawn. Looks like uhf/fhss rx is the one to go with. the base will be T2, with 901BT.

And the other part of my question as to existing units; If I have an LS with uhf 406-470 MHz, is it possible to send to JAVAD and have SS FH915 modem added? I'm using T2 and 4 watt currently, might like to add 1M with internal SS.

Why not just get a T-1M with an UHF 406-470 MHz radio? This why you would not need to reconfigure your current LS.
I didn't see the option for an internal UHF 406-470 MHz radio on the T-1M? I'll have to look again.

Edit: okay, I get it, use the current 4 watt with the 1M. But still, wondering just because the other way eliminates setup and cables for external radio modem.

It has the option to be configured with this.

Thanks Matt & Shawn. Got it now. So many options, and two things at once I missed it. Still, it would be nice if I could have the 1 watt spread spectrum for smaller jobs, and be able to use the 4 watt for larger ones.

edit: I guess the issue is the license fcc. Do I need another license for the 1 watt internal uhf? If not, then doesn't matter if uhf or spread spectrum.
