Restore Settings

Gentlemen,

I have a replacement LS and would like to restore the setups and lists (code, symbol). I started to restore from backup yesterday and had 2 options:

Restore one project or all projects. Apparently there are options to restore other files such as code lists however; the system infers that this will be a problem with a new device.

Is it possible to restore codes and shape tags?

Currently you need to use the Export/Import feature found in Tags and Codes. Being able to restore them from a backup is on the to do list.

Hi Matt,

I have the new LS and my original SD card containing the typical files plus a new backup. It sounds like you are saying that I can't recover the codes from the information I have available. Is that correct?

In this case you could recover them by copying the TagsAndCodes.db3 file found in the backup in Mounted Volume\VS Data\TagsAndCodes into the same location on LS so that existing database file is replaced. You could do this using Windows Mobile Device Manager while your LS is connected to your PC with a USB cable or you can exit J-Field and use the file explorer.

Thanks Matt...I copied the database file and copied it to the proper directory after exiting from J-Field.
