Start T3 remotely using TCP

From our LS+ we can use Bluetooth to connect to our T3 base and start the base (broadcasting TCP, radio, or both). However, we'd like to be able to connect to the T3 remotely using TCP and start the base that way. At one time we had our equipment configured to do that. For example with the T3 set up at our office we'd like to connect to it and start it using our LS+ from a jobsite 3 miles away. But when we try to connect an LS+ to the T3 using TCP instead of Bluetooth, it won’t connect, we get "socket failed." How should I solve that issue?
