The national news says it's COLD in Texas. There may be personal and business emergencies that the rest of us don't know about and could help with. Wow Steve, that means a lot and from knowing you for several years I know that you are sincere in your offer.
My family and I have been blessed so far through all of this to have power and internet service. We had a week notice this was coming so we prepared the best we could and so far those preparations have been sufficient.
The cold was insane yesterday. Here in Kilgore, Texas, the temperature dropped to -6°F. I've never in my life seen single digits here, much less negative. We have about 10" of snow on the ground. I haven't seen that much accumulation since 1982. All of that to say it is all very unprecedented. There are a lot of people suffering as a result, and people tend to look for a culprit. Perhaps there is one, but mostly I think it's just a very unprecedented weather event.
