Triumph LS and Recon

Hello again,

I have an old TDS Recon data collector that I wonder if I can interface with the Triumph LS. The Recon is running in Windows CE 4.1, and like the Triumph LS, I am able to use it's USB port with Windows Mobile Device Center to upload and download files to my PC. Is there a way to get something similar between the Recon and the Triumph LS? It would be wonderful to be able to move data between the two without a computer in the field.

Thanks!

Bruce

Can you not just use your USB thumb drive to export your points from one and import into the other? No need for a computer.

Well, the Recon has a USB Type B connector that does not fit any thumbdrives I have. Good thought though, and I wonder if I can get such a drive.

Did some research: you can get an adaptor for like $1 to make that option work. Thanks Matthew!

Got an adaptor but the Recon is not recognizing anything...yet. I am researching it a bit, it's Windows CE 4.1 so maybe it's just too dang old. Would be great to be able to do this!

Bruce, the Recon is too old product, you can not connect thumbdrive to it. For newer handhelds you can buy USB OTG cable to connect thumbdrive. For Recon I recomment to buy SD/MMC to CF Type II adapter. I bought one maybe 4 years ago, I can not remember where, and there is no brand name on it. You can put the SD card into the adapter, and then insert the adapter into the CF slot of the Recon. Maybe Recon will not recognize big cards, use 1,2 or 4GB first. If you have micro SD card and a micro/normal adapter, then your problem is solved, because you can insert the micro SD into the TLS slot. Other option is to buy an USB-SD card reader wit wich you can handle the SD card connected to the USB port of your TLS.
