Triumph LS as Static Reveiver or RTK Rover.

I just updated my TLS, so it is up-to-date.
I attempted to set it (TLS) up as a Base Station and/or Stand-alone to collect static data for a couple of hours. It could no find any satellites in either set-up.

I am still unable to get it to work in RTK mode. It loses uhf signal ±800' from the radio (4watt) in a wide open field. I can see the radio!

Since the software has changed so much, I have no idea how to set this up anymore. The users guide is out of date.

I had to use the total station on the last 3 large jobs because I cannot get this thing to work.

Can I get some simple, step-by-step instructions on how to setup my TLS for static and RTK Rover.

I'm not completely stupid. I had this thing "down-pat" before you changed the software.

Also, checking the "Receiver Details" I noticed it had no Receiver Code. Is this correct?

Hi Donald,

Base/Rover Setup has not changed significantly since the manual was written. It is on page 110. I am currently in the process of updating the manual and creating a separate Quick Start manual. Shawn has also created a more recent video about setting up the base:

.

If you are using 5 Hz corrections (period of 0.2 seconds) you will need to be sure to use D16QAM modulation.

If you want to operate in static mode with the LS, set the Position Accuracy to "Accept all" and "Verify w/o Reset" in the Verify Settings. You will then want to check "RAW GNSS DATA" in the What To Record screen. All these options are found in the Quick Setup menu.

You should not have a Receiver Code. This is only used to enable hidden features for the developers.

When you say that your LS cannot find satellites, are you saying that you see no satellites being tracked in the Satellites Status screen:

Matt - I am setting up the Triumph LS as a static base station to collect data for 2 hours. I've done it before but my setup got corrupted or changed. I set it to Stand Alone>Record GNSS Data>SD Card>All Satellites>30 Sec>AFRM Period None>FTP Upload unchecked>Done (where ">" is next page). I start the session and the "STN" shows 156+ ft. 0.0hz. I click on this area and there are no satellites (data) on the CSS screen.

When I set up for rover I set it to D16QAM and go to the next screen it locks up for a moment then goes to the Receive Format RTCM 3.0>Record GNSS Data unchecked>Done. Sometimes I just get a grey screen with the word "Modulation" on top. I have to use the Home button to get out of that screen.

I have deleted my setups and started from scratch following the manual's steps as much as I can. I may have it working now. I'll find out tomorrow.

Which "Transmit Format" should I be using and can use explain all of them to me? (RTCM 3.0 MSM4, RTCM 3.0 Min, RTCM 3.0 Full, etc.)

Shawn - No Locks showing.

Thanks guys.

I start the session and the "STN" shows 156+ ft. 0.0hz. I click on this area and there are no satellites (data) on the CSS screen.

This is the RTK V6 screen. Satellites will not be shown here unless you are receiving RTK corrections. Tap on the satellite icon on the home screen or the satellite button below the BACK button in the action screens so see the satellites being tracked.

To setup the Base and Rover you need to use Base/Rover Setup as shown in the video above and on page 110 in the manual. Base/Rover Setup replaces the old method of starting the base and is a lot easier to use. Use RTCM 3.0 Min format.

I am familiar with the Base/Rover setup. Last Saturday, when I tried to configure the UHF, I got a dialog box stating "External GNSS Antenna Not Connected". I had to reboot the LS and reinitiate the Base Station and Radio to access the UHF Config Screen.

From Setup>Advanced>Antenna you need to set the Antenna Input to Int. It sounds like it may be set to Ext which is for when you are using an external GNSS antenna. If you created a new profile it should be set back to Auto I believe.
