Wondering about the Triumph-LS form factor and Monopod?

I put this video together to briefly explain the advantages of the monopod and integrated design of the Triumph-LS. Most users seem pretty skeptical at first, but everyone I've talked with has come to appreciate the design after using it for a few days. I don't think I would ever want to go back to a 2 meter pole after this.

I agree with Clifton. Should be able to get credit on a trade-in. My current one is hard to open (since the beginning). The upper extension section binds-up when it is ½ way extended. The top connection (threaded section) and bottom point always tend to come loose. The newer one looks a lot more sturdy.

My monopod is still in brand-new condition, because I found it not useful. The lack of a bubble and the wide, flat conical tip were deal-killers for me. The addition of a bubble and a normal point make the new one much more appealing. If a trade-in program is offered, I'd be interested in participating.

Hi Shawn,

Here I would like to make a suggestion about a monopod, but somehow I need to avoid marketing problems. So I prefer to let you judge it first, in private, as a tester.

Thanks.

I edited the original and added a little about lift and tilt. I'm learning more about how to edit these videos to make them a bit more presentable. It's kind of fun, but tedious. (The original is still available).

Greetings,
I would like to use our new monopole as the primary mount for our LS rover, but as would luck would have it I've been doing a lot of boundary and control work, which requires a Bipod, but the throat of our bipod clamps are not wide enough to accommodate. Also, I am wary of wearing out that tiny 1/4 in socket in the bottom every time fitting on the adaptor, etc., not mention losing the adaptor.

Anyway, looking at suppliers of Bipods they all seem to have the same width throat, I.e. doesn't accommodate the 1-1/2" barrel width coming in from the side, (the quick clamps prevent an over the top insertion, and the tightening clamp prevents a from the bottom insertion.) Has anyone found a Bipod that will accommodate this new monopole? Michael Glutting mentioned a SECO product, but all the models I've seen so far have the same size clamp.

Thanks,
Rory

The second section of the monopod has a diameter of 1.25" so you just need to clamp the bipod on this section. This is what I do with a SECO quick release bipod.

Here is a photo of this bipod attached to the 2nd section of the new monopod:

Hi Rory,

As Matt advised, open clamp bipods which can be opened wider than 1.25" can attach to the second section of the TRIUMPH-LS rover rod. I use SECO Carbon Fiber Thumb-Release Bipod p/n 5219-03. It looks like this:
