Working with project archive ZIPs

My LS is in the shop getting a J-Shield upgrade. Meanwhile, I have all the projects off it archived in ZIP files - what software do I need (besides WinZip or whatever) to have to get in and export the points from these ZIP files, or otherwise work with the archives?

Windows should be able to decompress the file. There is a survey.csv file in the archive that has every possible field you could ever dream of for a comma delimited export. You should be able to use Excel to copy specific columns from this file into another file so that you only have the fields that you want.

When you archive, does it automatically export all the project points, or will the CSV be only the points from the last time I manually did an export command?

Also, I found the survey.csv, but I can't get the file to display correctly in Excel because it's semicolon delimited rather than comma. Even if I do a find/replace for ; to , it won't display correctly. Is there a way to get Excel to recognize semicolon for the delimiter?

Make a copy of the file and import it. Excel will ask what the delimiter is.

The file should include all survey points in the project at the time the archive was created.

Can someone please explain the difference between the "survey" and "stake" csv files it exports? The survey one seems to contain only keyed-in points, and if I took a shot on them, it has the as-staked coordinates too. Will these points also be included in the "survey" list, or do I need to take points from both lists?

Survey points are those collected from the Collect action screen or with "Accept As" in the Stake action screen and are those listed in the Survey tab of the Points screen. The stake points are those collected when a point is staked from the Stake action screen and Accept As is not used. These points will not be included in the survey.csv file.
