LS at 5654' from base, +179' in elevation change. My setup is with the frequency hopping radios. It was pushed to the limit here with absolutely no line of sight, jumping from fixed to code float but I was able to get 2 observations fully verified and compared N: 0.02', E: 0.02', Elev: 0.01'. 5 minute observations with DPOS/PPK confirms the position w/in 0.02' in all directions. This system continues to impress.

You going to the NC conference Wes? I will be there exhibiting. If you are going bring your stuff I will probably be fooling around in the evenings.

I could not get an RTK shot on this pin on Tuesday but I did get a PPK shot on it. You will notice my PDELTA to the PPK shot is about 0.05' today with this RTK shot.

Truely amazing with a 4" grape vine directly overhead and the tree cover.

Matt,

I notice that your Action Profile indicated that you were not too optimistic on regarding the chances for a RTK solution. It looks to me like you were planning on comparing two PPK shots...collected on separate days, which just happens to be a priceless check. Congratulations on your professionalism and perseverance.

However.....don't you just love it when the LS exceeds your expectations and achieves the impossible!

Yes from the previous days work I did not expect to get an RTK shot on this point. I had planned to take multiple 15 min PPK shots on this point yesterday. I ended up getting 4 shots that agreed within a tenth.

Post Processed Kinematic, it serves as a double check. Many would refer to it as a static observation.

Sounds like it would a good time to do some reading regarding DPOS, or feel free to give me a call.

Had a pin Monday directly under about an 18" cedar. Was on a survey I had done previously about 8 years ago, so I had design points and had snapped in and was staking back to everything less than a tenth so I had that extra benefit of already having a point to check if (well lets not beat around the bush WHEN I got the shot).

Very similar to what John posted above happened, I intended to possibly get two PPK shots here to compare to my design point and within each other when I got back to the office. When the first PPK session completed in 15 minutes, I had something similar to 85,730,3 for the RTK solution. It had kicked to phase two once, then locked onto a "bad" group, did a fail jump and then had added several more epochs back into the lead group. Basically I had 100% confidence this RTK was good. As soon as I stored the shot I inversed to my design point at that location and got 0.06'. No second PPK necessary! Then for the cherry on top, I processed the PPK at the office at it was 0.05' from the RTK I stored. Just an amazing Surveying machine!

I'll guess Adam.....full three phase RTK in 6-10 minutes under there?
Or maybe you did a 12-15 minute PPK and it checked within 0.05' (or better) with the RTK?
It took about 10- 15 minutes for me to feel good about it. I haven't DPOS'd yet but will be comparing them. Hey, I drove 2 hours one way, set 8 property corners, staked 4 proposed building corners, staked 10 points around a proposed septic area, and picked up another half acre or so of topo in the woods you see in the picture with 30-40 mph winds and some snow and I am already home!!!!!!! Best gear on Earth!

Good grief....ain't even fair is it! ;) That's at least two days work with a gun. I've said it to anyone that asks in my area (and actually even if they don't ask). If you're surveying and DON'T have one of these u b crazy!
I was in a very rough county in my area today and marked up and re shot 8 corners around tracts our company had previously surveyed. Then I divided 20 acres adjoining it in two parcels, setting two new property corners. Went around 52 acres total - ALL of it covered by cedars and pines - I was shutting off the base in 2 hrs, 25 minutes!!

That picture is in the mountains about 25 miles from the NC/TN line. Steep as a mule's nose. I'm not that tired, if I had used my robot I would be worn out. Dad's a stake toter, so I would have been running both ends. You know a person makes 4 or 5 trips across the same ground when traversing robotically.

This is in the City of Hickory, NC. It's not like most pics on here. I located this foundation that the land owner had gotten a building permit to build and started in the same location as a the previous house he tore down. He got a stop work order. Apparently the City just remembered about that sewer line that was under the previous building. Now he's in violation of building in the easement. The lot is now not buildable.
Should have gotten a survey before hand. And a reminder to always look for utilities even if there is sewer in the street don't mean it ain't in the back too. No manholes were on the property and were not obvious.
